Is it ok to ice the cupcakes the night before or is it best done on the day they're going to be eaten?

thank you so much for taking the time to write all these recipes for us to share.You have really inspired me to make my Christmas a bit more of a home made one.The recipes are fabulous ,my cake will be the best in the street.Off to make some bread sticks now.

ps.I made the Monkey bread today,Mmmmm NOM NOM!!!Came out really well & puffed up like a Monster!!
Bread sticks too but overdid the salt a little for the glaze after.The cheese ones are delicious though.
