Day 3 – Salted Caramels
Day 3 of The Pink Whisk 12 Days of Christmas and today it’s Salted Caramels – the perfect gift for someone special (or indeed you – I won’t tell anyone you made them!)
Ingredients:
175ml double cream
135g caster sugar
85g golden syrup

500g Strong White Flour
2 tsp Mixed Spice
1 1/2 tsp Salt
55g Butter
2 Eggs beaten
2 tbsp Honey
15g Dried Yeast (3 tsp)
175ml Milk
For the sugar coat
150g Caster Sugar
2 tsp Mixed Spice
For the Sauce
200g Butter
100g Dark Brown Sugar

Gruesomely Vile Halloween Cupcakes
Okay then, these cupcakes are delicious (honestly) and don’t just have to be for Halloween – they’re otherwise known as mint choc chip cupcakes only these have been morphed into hideously horrible cakes for Halloween!

Ingredients:

280g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
110g caster sugar
200g chocolate chips, plain
2 eggs, large
225ml milk
6tbsp oil (rapeseed or sunflower)
1tsp peppermint essence

1/2 can of Carnation Caramel (Dulche de Leche)
