For a gross twist on Oven Baked Scotch Eggs why not turn them into these – perfect for slicing up for a Halloween Party!
You just need to follow the Oven Baked Scotch Eggs recipe here but peel the hard boiled eggs and place them in a small bowl of water with a dash of red food colouring added.
Remember putting daffodils in a jar of coloured water to watch them change colour? This works exactly the same, but in a gross kind of way!
Cover and leave them to soak overnight and then drain off the water.
Pat them dry and assemble your scotch eggs.
You could just do one of the batch as a trick on your other half in their lunch box, yes, I have a mean streak!

These are awesome… I’m tempted to try these but with different colours… green or blue, haha.
No reason whatsoever – go for it! xx
Is there any reason why I couldn’t go insane and colour the sauagemeat, and even the breadcrumbs too? I can’t see a problem really, can you?
These are brilliant! I love the idea of a halloween scotch egg, never seen one before.
LOL! Just love these Ruth – so funny! Karen
hahaha, kind of gross but I LOVE IT! that’s the point of halloween anyway, isn’t it?
Absolutely! xx
I love that, building lots of ideas for our party!!
