…and a Horseradish Dumplings version too
It gets to the depths of winter and I’m always in real need of a good something to cheer me up.
Hello gang! Hope you’ve all had a fab summer hols? Well I’m back to the baking and kicking off with a savoury recipe for these delicious blue cheese and walnut biscuits.
Over the summer I made thousands of biscuits (quite literally) for Alex James – to be served at the launch of Blue Monday at The Big Feastival.
I love making these when I have the time, you can’t beat curry night in our house with homemade Naan bread.
There’s 2 options for you with a recipe for plain or Garlic and Coriander Naan Bread
300g strong white bread flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp fast action yeast
165ml milk (170g)
4 tbsps natural yoghurt (60g)
1 tbsp vegetable or sunflower oil
1/2 to 1 tsp kalonji seeds (onion/nigella seeds)
Plus 25g melted butter
Garlic & Coriander Naan
1 clove of garlic, crushed
2 tbsps chopped fresh coriander
Place all the dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl.
If you think of Granola do you think dry crunchy boring stuff? How wrong you’d be – I’m eating this stuff by the handful and really have to stop myself for going back for more . Try making your own, you won’t be disappointed!
In our house, Christmas is a time for snuggling up on the sofa together in front of a roaring fire. Baked Toffee Popcorn is always a welcome addition to our Christmas Movie watching (plus it’s one of the last few Saturdays before the big day, so I know you’ll need something quick and easy to rustle up today!)
125g popping corn
1 tbsp vegetable/sunflower oil
100g soft light brown sugar
1 tbsp golden syrup
3 tbsps water
2 disposable foil roasting trays.
